Pencil Case.

Just thought I would share with you the last remains of the Oriental fabric I had. As it's back to school soon; what better way to keep your pencils tidy than with a unique pencil case. My daughters eyes lit up when she saw it.

I have been given a couple of Oriental dresses & jackets from a dear friend's husband, which belonged to his mum. I will be showing you all the lovely things I can make from them.

I am sure you will all let me know what you think!!

Custom Made!

I was given a chinese dress by a lady who's husband had received it as a gift while working out in China. It was for his daughter but, unfortunately the dress was for a younger aged girl; so she never got to wear it!

They asked me if I could do anything with it. As you may already know I love making individual noticeboards so I thought it would work on a couple of thin canvases due to the style of the dress. It would have been a shame to cut into the whole dress so I put some light blue satin fabric underneath the neck line & cut into it (hate that bit as there is no turning back) keeping the top of the dress in tact (Phew made it!).

Getting the right shade for the ribbon was a worry but I matched it up a treat. It still looks like her dress & it can be used to hold pictures or notes, but I hear her Mum's trying to get one of the boards (hee)! I think they should stay together!

Cot Comforter

Just finished making this cot comforter; the fabric is called Flights of Fancy, and is from

To create this comforter you just need 3 different fabrics, piping for the edging & lining for inbetween the 2 fabrics (iron on is the best so it stays in place).

I just love it & might have to make some more in the new year!

Thought I would share a little glimpse of what I have been up to.

They will be available soon, If you are interested in looking at my collection please e-mail me at info@thefeatherednest.com.au or keep checking the web site for availability.

Also working on a line of kiddy ones, the fabric I have is just so cute.
